"My collages are constructed from my own paintings, drawings, and photographs from my studio work and my travels, most recently Morocco and Spain, that I assemble, take apart, and then reassemble. This compulsive ordering and reordering evolves into a highly personal system of signs and symbols which lead through metaphoric doors and windows -- photos of literal doors and windows appear frequently in my work -- while other metaphorical apertures appear as collaged paper and drawings, frames within frames. In my art, I am attempting to evoke the feeling of what was there, what is there now, what is irretrievably lost."
